#651 How “Grate” Thou Art Kitchen Nativity
Acquired 2013While attending the FOTC Convention in Cleveland, I saw this fun, creative nativity set at two of the nativity tour homes we visited. So, determined to “have one”, I got the name and email address of the person who made them. Her name is Joannah Soderborg from Michigan. I emailed her that evening from my hotel room and the rest of the story is in this picture! The set includes the following kitchen items:Grater - The StableAngel - Cork Bottle OpenerMary & Joseph - Bent SpoonsManger - Muffin TinBaby Jesus - Strawberry StemmerThree Kings - Garlic Presses with Pastry Tips as the crownsShepherds - Food Seasoning InjectorsShepherd's Staff - Nut PickSheep - Steel WoolShe uses magnets on the bottom of the pieces and places them on a metal tray. She said I could send a tray if I had one to use - I actually sent the stainless-steel serving tray that was my mom's! So now my kitchen nativity has very sentimental meaning! Joannah's charge for the nativity and her creativity was $115. I received the set November 2013.
