#885 Three Wood Parts

Acquired 2021

Joan and Garland, our dear friends from Casa Grande, in early December 2021, graced me with this locally made nativity handmade with three different types of wood. They reside in a senior vacation resort of RV’s, park models and manufactured homes. There are numerous senior activities for the members including an annual craft fair with items made by the residents. That is how this unique nativity came about. The talented crafter molded walnut, cedar, and maple pieces together to create the seven-piece wood set on a wood base. The nativity characters are mounted on pegs which fit neatly into holes in the wood designed base. The kings mount on the right looking left to Baby Jesus. The lone shepherd on the left leans right to see Baby Jesus. Mary and Joseph are nested behind Baby Jesus. Thank you, Joan and Garland for this lovely gift.
