#714 Wood Painted Simplicity

Acquired 2015

So simple and yet so beautiful. Leandra Givargiznia, from Oakdale, created this nativity from left over pieces of wood from construction projects. One inch by one inch, she used a 7” tall piece painted green, a one inch by one inch 6” painted blue piece, two round wood balls, small piece of burlap for Mary's robe, a two inch by ½' inch piece of wood painted white, and a small wood door pull - put them all together with glue and it became a lovely, simple, inviting depiction of the Birth of Jesus with His Holy Family. Amazing, simple creativity.I purchased the piece for $10 at the Presbyterian Church Annual Craft Fair in Modesto. Janine and I were out visiting craft fairs and Janine noticed on Facebook that our past secretary, Cynthia Espinoza, had a Pampered Chef booth at that fair. So, we took time to go see her and I stumbled onto this darling simple nativity. November 2015.
